After vite build, dist/client is a complete static site that can be hosted on any static hosting service. Set the build command to vite build (or your package's build script) and the publish directory to dist/client.

SolidBase uses @solidjs/vite-plugin in start mode, configured in vite.config.ts. Nitro presets in app.config.ts are no longer used. If you set prerender: false, the build produces a server bundle in dist/server instead of prerendered pages; deploying that bundle requires a server setup suited to your host.

The prerender also writes a 404.html, plus a <dir>/404.html for each directory whose not-found page differs (another locale's [...404] route, a section sidebar). The build log lists them. Missing URLs should be answered with the closest one so the page hydrates with the right locale and layout. Some hosts do this automatically. On Netlify, add a rule per directory, such as /fr/* /fr/404.html 404.
